A collaborative hula group dedicated to preserving and sharing Hawaiian and Polynesian dance traditions in New England, Hui Lehua’s dancers take their name from the lehua flower, which blooms in adverse conditions, including cooling lava flows. “Na Mele Hula o Na Wai” or “Songs of the Waters” is a 30-minute presentation of the traditional and contemporary Hawaiian and Polynesian dance relating to WATER in its many forms: the ocean, the shore, rain, and other natural elements.
