Drawing from blues and Dixieland traditions and with a street-smart stagecraft honed in the subways of Boston, Amy’s "modern vintage" grooves have earned her comparisons to Lake Street Dive, Maria Muldaur and the Asylum Street Spankers. The 2015 Kerrville New Folk winning songwriter explores all dimensions of her ukulele, both exploiting and defying its reputation as a novelty instrument. Since 2012, Amy has performed with her band "Friends With Benefits" and toured as a one-woman band, incorporating mouth trumpet and foot percussion, and with Khrysti Smyth on backing vocals and percussion. The duo provides a high-energy, all-ages show that transports Somerville back to Vaudeville.
