Lauren is a stay-at-home mom of two young children, who paints in her spare time. She resides in Somerville, Massachusetts, and enjoys painting scenes from her surroundings: the sky, local haunts, and her children. In high school, she enjoyed painting large murals, and studied painting and sculpture at Gordon College. She then spent over five years working with and teaching ceramics, including designing and overseeing several community ceramic installation projects at the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Boston and Roxbury.
“Lately I have been abstracting clouds through a mixture of mediums, in an effort to highlight the transient yet vast presence of the sky’s splendor. Each painting captures a specific moment in time where the light, wind and clouds harmonize. The addition of lines serve to emphasize the sky’s boundless presence above human architecture.”
